FOLK MUSIC WORKSHOP: Here's your chance to learn a couple of folk tunes with MZAZA

World music favourites MZAZA will conduct workshops for local musicians, emerging artists and other community creatives before their brand new show, The Birth and Death of Stars at 7pm!

Bring your guitar, uke, stringed or wind instrument or hand percussion
Greta Kelly on violin and shah kaman, a Middle-Eastern spike-fiddle will join John Robertson on guitar, teaching a couple of tunes which demonstrate some of the unusual rhythms, ornaments of Balkan folk music
Percussionists can learn some uneven rhythms with Jordan Stamos on darabuka a Turkish/Arabic hand percussion, and tapan which is a Turkish double-sided drum.
